Ivan tea, Fireweed, Rosebay or Epilobium angustifolium (and also known as Willow herb tea or Kapor tea)

Country of origin: Latvia (EC)

Ivan-tea is well known for ages particularly in Europe. It was commonly used instead of  black and green tea long time before the tea was brought there.

Fireweed leaves and flowers contain vitamins B and C, flavonoids, 20% tannins, including about 10% tannin pyrogallic which is a group of alkaloids and a large amount of protein. At the same time, willow herb contains no caffeine, does not violate the digestion and is not addictive.

This wild tea is used as an antispasmodic, laxative and tonic. Tea is made from Fireweed leaves and flowers which were used to treat asthma and whooping cough. It has also been used as a treatment for prostate, urinary problems and for various gastrointestinal disorders.

Regular drinking fireweed tea can help you with anaemia (Ferrum rich), insomnia and headaches.

Ivan tea has a delightful floral aroma and fine, herby flavor.

How to prepare tea:

Take 1 full teaspoon of Ivan tea and pour one cup of boiling water. Steep for 5 to 8 minutes. The taste can be modified by adding honey or a squeeze of lemon.

Please contact your doctor before drinking it.
